Radio didn't play when vehicle turned off "battery saver"

Mine going in this afternoon and they will have it overnight and all day tomorrow. As for short trips, I was driving highway for 20 minutes yesterday to my son 's house. The dreaded message showed up the second I turned off the engine. Same thing on the way home. So can't blame short trips. Plus my truck has no aftermarket anything on it so can't blame that.
It's too bad, because other than this stupid bug I love this truck.

Hi Gerry,
I act as a liaison between folks on the forums and our Customer Care Team; I don't have access to any kind of repair procedures or technical data. Additionally, I can only assist customers in the US; your best bet will be to reach out to my colleague on the forum, Bianca. She assists all of our Canadian customers; here's a link to her profile: https://www.f150forum.com/members/fordserviceca-150023/

I might just do that. I think you can appreciate the level of frustration here. These guys and girls are for the most part loyal Ford customers and many of them don't feel like they are being heard. I've posted my thoughts on what I think about this problem and I feel strongly that this is going to be solved at the engineering level base on the symptomology.

Well I bought one of these off Ebay for $5 including shipping, in my case I will be able to see when the trucks battery is getting sucked dry of power without having to jerk around with a meter all the time.
For those who only have the battery monitor showing up on there screen but no dead truck with one of these you may be able to see if there is any relationship between the voltage and the message, or if it is truly just a computer glitch when you get that message.
This thing doesn’t draw jack for power either, I plugged it in Friday night when I got home and it went down to -2F that night and the truck sat all the way until Sunday afternoon before I fired it up again and it didn’t even show .1 volt loss from Friday to Sunday afternoon.

Thats really slick and be nice to have that for the trailer as well. I do know for me anyways when the issue was there it wasn't related to the battery at all. I measured the battery right after shutting down and waiting for any previous voltage drop to clear. It always came back to the ~12.5ish range. Unless somehow the BMS can watch for Amp draw and diagnose a bad battery cell. Even still I had the issue right after a new battery went in. As well noticed some of your posts where you're on multiple new batteries so I doubt they were all truly DOA.
BTW Still going strong since the battery charge technique I did earlier. Got my fingers crossed still.

Just picked up my truck from Ford. They were not able to duplicate what is dragging the battery down. However that's not to say I was blown off. The is my 3rd visit for this problem. Each time, the tech has seen the display message and each time my battery us showing that it is being dragged down by something while it is parked. They had it overnight and it was very slow to crank this morning with a "low batt" error message. They charged the battery and load tested it. Also tested the alternator and charging system. Both have no problems.
So at this point they have disconnected the oem 2 way remote starter and I will monitor for a week and see what happens.

well mine did the Radio didn't play when vehicle turned off "battery saver" again this morning when I got to work....
as you can see in the pic it had 12.2V in it at shutdown which it what it has in it when I shut it down all the time. truck had been running for about 40 minutes just like every day when I go to work....... there should be no reason for it to turn off at 12.2, especially when the truck was just turned off.
This truck is just riddled with issues....

Was out in the truck this morning. First thing I did was turn the key on and see if I I was going to get the "low batt" message. But nothing. I did notice the engine cranked faster than usual. I was running errands do I had a few stops along the way. Each time I shut the engine off I waited for the "battery safe mode", but nothing.
So with the factory remote starter disconnected, the battery problems didn't show up. Well at least today anyway. I'm hopeful but not sold yet.

I think I am going to go with the XS Power D6500 battery. I have 1100 miles on my 2013 and I get this message, and it seems that Ford techs are not able to track down what the culprit is. I have seen you guys say that you are on your 3rd battery, I wonder if any techs have checked to see if there is a possibility of bad sensors around the negative battery cable? I have checked mine and tested the system and have not found a parasitic drain on the system, even with the Livewire plugged in to the OBD2 port.

I could add that the techs have done 14 hours of troubleshooting over 3 visits. They have gone over all of the related connections, both hot and the grounds. They have reset the bms a couple of times and checked the charging system and load tested the battery.
This message appears when the battery experiences a high current draw and the engine is off. I was told that if you install a second battery this would still happen.
What ever is causing the parasitic draw has to be found. Logical troubleshooting is the way to do. Lots of times, throwing a bunch of parts a it won't fix it.
I seem to be lucky enough to be at a dealer that is making an effort. BTW Normal key off drain for these is 50ma.
