Default Rack & Pinion

I have a very small leak in my 2010's steering rack. A friend told me today to try a product by Lucas, that reconditions and may help to cease small leaks. Has anyone ever tried such a product? Apparently safe to add to steering fluid reservoir and won't void any warranties? The dealer noticed the slight play is tie rod, then the trip after that, noted a light leak. They said to leave it for now and they would check it again in a month when I'm back for an oil change. If its small enough and can be stopped, it may be worth a try. Here in Canada, even an after market rack is around $600.....ouch!

I'd either fix the leak properly or live with it. Wouldn't put that stop leak stuff in my truck.

I guess living with the small leak won't hurt anything for now will it? Just hate to dish out a lot of money right away is its only minor? There's no noticeable difference in the steering performance at all. I remember having one of my first cars that I had to replace the rack in, and the power steering would cut out sometimes in mid-turn.....that was getting dangerous.

Yeah I hear ya. It sucks for sure, just don't know the long terms effects of that stuff could end up costing more.
