I guess I should have been more specific about your options.... I got distracted at work before I finished the post.

Instead of running the power you can probably find a wire to run the power off of inside depending on where you plan to place the monitor. I had a remote wire for my sub amplifyer that I used for powering the monitor. Its 12v when the ignition is on, but the monitor is just black until I put it in reverse.

Really appreciate the responses and it does help me. I think I know now what to do so will see when it gets here in a few days. I also thought the cable would be too short so I bought a 25 footer too. Only its a video RCA. i hope it can carry power. Probably will. Hope! Thanks guys. I also plan on trying to go through the grommet.

I believe there is also a power reverse behind the kick panel near the hood release latch in the cab.

Still waiting on my shipment of camera and monitor. When I get it done I will post pictures. I might even try to take picks of every connection I make too. I had a real hard time finding just how to do it. Lots of posts I read (over a hundred) but few pics of the actual connections. I just hope I don't screw this up.

So far, I have gotten them unpacked. That's enough for today. Time for a beer.

I thought the 3.5" monitor one would be smaller than the 4.3" monitor.

Who knew?

When you hook into your trailer wiring harness for the camera power, I believe the middle wire. (brown/purple stripe) will give you power when its in reverse. White is the negative. Dont quote me on the wire color though. When you get into the cab simply connect your power to the wire you ran from the back. Connect the RCA. THen find a ground in the cab.

I just did mine last weekend. I thought i was going to be cool and do a wirelsess signal transmitter but it didnt work and had to run the RCA anyway. The one you ordered is probably going to be short. Also i couldnt find an easy way to get the rca into the cab of the truck. Had to cut it to get through the hole then soddered it to an extension so it would reach the the monitor.
I have same camera. My wireless monitor works great. I just removed the taillight and stuck the power wire into the plug with the backup light, silicone it nicely and made sure the antenna wire is not pinched and fee to sway.

The wireless huh? Is that available for mine? Mine is wired direct I think unless I get a wireless monitor?

I got this camera because I saw Sullyman on this forum had it. It is built real good. Solid.

I saw some posts on here that were not kind to the wireless. But yours works good huh? I would like a wireless (less screwing around with wires) and cleaner look. Did you put the transmitter in the taillight housing too?
