Questions on TSB 13-1-7, and Rear Suspension Squeak.
Came from 6 GMC's over 15 years, last one was an 09 SLT All Terrain Crew, 4x4. I buy vehicles just off lease and or low mileage 18 month to 22 months old. This is my first post so pardon my ignorance.
First Ford, its a low mileage 2011 Lariat S-Crew, 4x4, Eco, Max Tow etc. still on warranty 19 more months, I wont mileage it out. I wanted to try a Ford as GM was getting a bit stale for me, I was looking for an Eco or 6.2 with max tow as I tow quite a bit between snowmobile season, RV and Farming. We have Farm trucks for the heavier, crappier jobs.
Had 2 weeks and love many things about it. Not completely convinced I made the right move YET. Time will tell.
I have 2 questions:
1st Question? I had my dealer flash TSB 13-1-7 for hard shift transmission between 1 and 2. I had a very abrupt upshift between 1st and 2nd on occassion, otherwise it worked very well. 2nd day into new reflash and the shifting is Brutal, mostly 1-2, 3-4, 4 to 5. Inconsistent, abrubt and now on down shifts it is not smooth either, especially 5 to 4 and 3 to 2. Dealer told me it takes 2 days of driving to re learn the adaptive shift patterns which it states also on TSB, I get that and will be patient. My question........... What consittutes 2 days of driving? Is it based on hours, cycles of shift, mileage? God Ihope it gets better, it is absolutely brutal. Anyone have any experience with this TSB and my question above?
2nd Question? I have an annoying high pitch squeak coming from RH Rear Suspension when it cycles on road. When roads are damp, wet or after I wash it it is not eveident for a while. Only after roads/vehicle is dry it starts. Anyone?
Thanks

Something is definitely loose or rubbing the wrong way. Going to try to get under the truck this weekend and take a look
My truck is a 2012 FX2 if that has any correlation to your model.

Update.....I found the squeak. It was the rear passenger shock plastic cover rubbing on shock body. It was slightly distorted near edge. I trimmed it where distorted. Problem solved. What a bloody noise, ridiculous. Lets hope the trans starts shifting better in a few days. J

I've got the same problems with my tranny, and I do not think that Ford has a fix for it. At least not a fix that they want to pay for, like replace the tranny or replace the computer module.
