My EB IS faster on the 5*. The difference is night and day between stock and tuned.

I was running the 87 P/T tune with 87 gas and pulling my 6100# trailer one day. I was in the right lane, a jeep and explorer in the left. I pulled away when the light turned green, and the jeep driver was not expecting it, he thought I would be slow and he would just casually drive away and cut me off. I left him sitting at the light, he had to floor it to get up and around, so did the explorer. The road ahead merged the left lane into the right so they had to cut me off or run out of road. Thats the difference between tuned, and untuned, if it were stock, there is no way I would have been able to get the jump on them with a trailer on the back. My truck has 3:15 gears on top of it!

A tune on, the other hand, gives you noticeable performance improvements. The shift points are different & much smoother, acceleration is quicker, throttle response is quicker (no more lag). Some people even experience a gain in MPG. A tune is something you have to experience for yourself. Once you've driven a tuned truck, you'll be hard pressed to drive a non-tuned truck again. I hope this helped clear things up a bit.

Just cant decide if I should get it with 6th gear lockout. Does the tow/haul button prevent it from going into 6th gear?

You can lock the gear out with shift lever buttons on it. I have 5* tune on my 14 xlt 5.0

Talk to Chris. He helped me with my tune updates. I didn't speak with him over the phone, but he was quick to answer my emails and send me the revised tunes.

You're making it harder than it needs to be.

It is simple. Go to the website and read about the tunes. Pick three or more and purchase them. You get a full questionnaire no matter how you buy the tunes and they will make sure you get it right. That simple. Go performance and race your f150 like a mustang, choose perf/tow to get a better responding truck and driving experience all around or go economy and compete with the Prius in the HOV lane.

Get one of each and re-flash based on you mood. When you add a mod, call/email you mod and 5* will modify the tune to you change.

Good luck.

What 99 said. I did the same thing with Stage3 when I got the SCT and 5* tunes. They sent me an email, I filled out the questions, and two days later had all my tunes. I made the mistake of buying 3 eco tunes though, 87, 89, 91, none of which are for my driving. I found out after ordering and had them that they are only good for city driving.
