Default Question on component speaker upgrade

I just got myself a 2013 fx2 with the Sony system...this truck is new to me and after doing some research, I am aware that you cannot just replace the front door speakers as you would in a 04-08 model with coaxials.

My question was, what size component/tweeter combo can I get that will work with my truck?

I want to say the pillar tweeter size is 1.48 Im not 100% sure of that. I just do not want to start purchasing things and find out they're not compatible. Persumably in the future I will add an amp and some subs, but more questions will arise then, due to more issues from what I've read because of the sony set up.

Any help is appreciated

Crutchfield.com has a pretty good outfit my car link that will tell you what works. It gives you the option to select with or without sony audio

On crutchfield, the website still shows coaxial speakers.

I'm not 100% they will work for the front doors

I'm hoping others will also chime in

The JL C5-570's will work as will the Kicker CSS68's. You will have to Drimel out the holes on the A pillars a little bit if you want to flush mount the tweeters or you can rig up a bracket to mount them behind the factory grills. I flush mounted mine.

I was hoping the jl c2-650 would work. Any pics of the outcome with the jls?
Do you have them wires with the headunit or did you add an amp to those?

I used infinity 6x8 for the doors and 1" infinity tweeters they worked in the pillars. I didn't have to dremel anything to do it.

I just put Kicker CS68's in my 2014 Screw. Great sound and really easy install. Got kit from Stage 3 Motorsports.

I got the Infinity Primus component system with 6.5" speakers. Had to get mounts for the door speakers but the tweeters fit right in. The sound pretty good. Crutchfield will help you with what fits. Put Alpine 5x7 in rear door. I have a 14 scab. That had base model speakers. Kept the factory stereo Head unit. Sounds awesome now. All for $215. Plus crutchfield gives free instructions, wiring harness and mounts.

I have the Kicker 40CSS684 components as well, made a big difference. Hardest part was getting the wires through that damn door connector... A-pillars needed a bit of dremeling to flush mount the tweeters but they look good.
