Default Question on 36 gallon fuel tank

Hi, I'm new and thinking about buying a used 2014 F-150 4x4 XLT Supercrew.
The owner selling it says it has a 36 gallon tank, which I would prefer.
The fuel gauge is currently showing a full tank.
Other than filling an empty tank is there a way to determine if the truck has a 36 gallon or 26 gallon tank?

Put the vin number into ETIS and see what it pulls up for truck features

Thanks. I did look at the ETIS and it shows this truck has a "single extended range tank." I guess that is the 36 gallon one.
However, the trip computer shows that at the trucks current mileage average of 16.9 mpg it has a range of 411 miles with a full tank.
411/16.9 = 24 gallons
How can that be? I would expect a 36 gallon tank at 16.9 mpg would have a range over 600 miles.

Because DTE on that vehicle is based on the most recent 500 miles driven. When was MPG last reset? Look at the bar graph and see what the most recent 30 minutes is showing.

Also, there is a setting to base DTE on regular or towing mileage, and it might be set on towing. 411/36 = towing mpg.

Mine is normally around 420 on miles to empty and you are going off a system that is never right on mine (gallons used will be 27.5 or so pump clicks off at 31).
If ETIS and the owner says its there and it has not been wrecked I would not worry about it.

DTE usually is about 500 when I fill up, but I do a lot of towing and driving in town. I get about 14mpg

Look under truck, the 36 gallon tank is much larger. It starts right under the drivers seat and extends to about 1' in front of the rear axle.

I was going to ask if there was a known length, width or height of the 36 gallon tank, itself, that could be that could be taken that would immediately
tell the tale.
