Did the same thing on my 2014 except I sectioned 1'' out of a set of 2009 steel mounts, that way it tucks the boards in slightly closer and moves them up for better ground clearance.. If my wife wasn't so short I wouldn't even have them on the truck...

I haven't checked them out but are they grippy or the same type of plastic as the FX running boards?

They are OEM lariat fx4 boards, there are so many different models of running boards but, i feel these are the best ones IMHO. I don't feel like they are slippery but I haven't stood on them when they are wet. I don't see them being a problem though
