Put new Emblems on your truck? Post Some Pics!
Hey everyone,
I'm thinking about tossing some new emblems on my truck (its a 5.0 xlt) and am curious who out there has done the same. Kinda thinking about yanking the flex fuel badge off the tail gate and putting some sort of 5.0 badge there.
So to those who post I ask: where did you put them? Did you replace the old emblems (ecoboost /flex fuel) and if so whats the best method for getting them off without damaging the paint?
Just looking for some ideas of whats out there, doesn't matter what engine you have.
Post pics if you got em!

I replaced my front fender F 150 FX emblems and put the platinum ones on. It was really easy. I just used fishing line and ran in along the back side of the old emblem to separate it from the adhesive on the truck. Once i got the emblem of it was just a matter of taking the time to get the excess off the truck before i put the new ones on. The fishing line was the best trick i could come up with that wouldn't cause any damage to my paint. just keep it under the emblem and work the line back and forth until you break the emblem away from the glue.

I second the use of fishing line for emblem removal. To add to that though, it is really helpful to use a blow dryer or heat gun to heat up the adhesive to easily cut through it with the fishing line. There will be some adhesive left on the paint but products like goof off, 3M adhesive remover, or other paint safe adhesive removers work well to get it off.
I removed my flex fuel badge as well. And had overlays made by the member Moody Blue for the Ford badges. Painted the rest of the emblems with plasti-dip also.
