PUT.C published the 1/2 ton comparison test.

To get a 5.0 supercab under the $30K Monroney hard limit, they would have had to go with an almost stripped XL. Certainly in hindsight, that would have been a better choice seeing as PUT seemed to care little about interior features but highly valued the rear seats!
Of course if Ford would quit playing games with high sticker prices and huge rebates, they could have gotten a much nicer truck in the showdown.
For that matter, PUT should really use "street price" rather than Monroney if price is that critical of a factor for them.

Ford supplied the BEST TRUCK in this test and dominated the testing.
The competition provided better passenger vehicles or more versatile vehicles.
So the request should have been " provide your most versatile or best all round pickup for under 30 grand "
That would have changed the thinking of Ford staff who provided the best TRUCK (work) for the test.

If Mike Levine would have been clear about the cab size this could have been a proper comparison.

Mike Levine doesn't work for pickuptrucks.com anymore. He works for Ford now. He left not that long ago so maybe he still had a part in this comparison.
