Default Proper Tire Pressure

I have been reading a few posts on here about tire pressure and people adding more air to the tires. The truck says 35 PSI but the tires say 44 max. I can only assume that being closer to 44 than 35 would be best for fuel and handling. Am I correct?

Ford recommends 35 so that there is a comfortable ride. Most including myself find that at 40 psi you get better mpg due to less rolling resistance and better tighter handling especially when cornering. If you can live with a slightly stiffer ride by all means air them up.

I run 38 in mine for mileage as well to. I would not over inflate to much it causes uneven tire wear.

I filled them up to 42 PSI and as the other post says the ride is a little stiffer but I am also driving a truck not a Cadillac so I don't mind that.

275/55/20 Bridgestone Alenzas
40 psi when warm/hot - haven't checked 'em cold yet as I typically check the pressure on the way home when filling up that 36 gallon tank.

I also run mine at 40 PSI. 285/70/17 BFGs. It feels weird if it has any less in it, too much and it seems to bounce around a lot more on the highway..

i aired mine up from 32 to 40 psi the other day, definitely a big difference in ride stiffness! I never noticed so many cracks and bumps on the pavement I drive everyday!! cant really say anything about mileage, I have only driven in the city and trying to feather it as much as possible watching the green bar.

The wife hasnt complained yet, so we're good!

My sticker says 55 front and 60 rear. The tires say 80psi.
Do I win?

That seams really high for a half ton pickup, unless you have max tow and payload.
