Default Projector retrofit

Forgive me if this has been covered but I'm looking into doing a retrofit with my spare headlights. I know the sky is the limit on what you can spend on these but is there a cost effective set of parts that will work fine? Anything has to be better than the factory halogen bulbs.

Default Driving lights?

I almost went down the HID projector rabbit hole myself, (and still think it is a viable option).

What I really wanted was better hi-beams to see deer. I added a set of KC Hi-light Gravity G34 street legal driving lights wired to go on/off with the hi-beams. They are not off road flame throwers but augment headlights very well. These have a solid cut-off, nobody has ever flashed their lights at me before I could drop to low beams so far.

I still want wider fogs. Not happy enough with what’s on the market yet to purchase.

personally, I feel it's easier on swapping out the projector on the 13-14 HID headlights like I did but there are options out there. I assume you have the stock reflector housings. these things make it easier without having to dremel out a giant hole. https://www.lightwerkz.net/index.php...mplates-2.html. then you'll just need projectors, shrouds, bulbs, ballast, wiring kit, butyl.

ebay has some aftermarket ones that look identical, of course without the HID projector. crack them open, add the EVO X-R 2.0 projector and your D2S HID kit and should be good to go. https://www.f150forum.com/f38/new-fa...lights-377231/

there's also the retrofit source but i've used Lightwerkz for years and they sell the same products. they also have promo codes for first time buyers. WELCOME15 for 15% off.

i went the super easy route... i waited until someone was selling a completed set on here that i liked. i paid less than the parts total would have cost me and had no work to do.

How cost effective are you looking at? I think I did mine for around $50 in materials on my 2012.
Obviously lighting was not great and not comparable to a professional retrofit. But, for the money is was a fun project and honestly better than stock.
I think my only complain about the cheapo projectors was that one of them had a flare on the side instead of a perfect cutoff line.
Did not bug me while driving but it definitely did not produce those pretty pictures we see when looking at high dollar projectors.

Even did the fogs for cheap..

what parts did you use? I was hoping to spend 150 to 200 but if I could achieve that for under 100 I'd be pretty happy.

eBay Projectors
HID Kit
Butyl Tape I think I also used some black rtv silicone to double seal the lens.
Heat Gun

Obviously these aren't the exact links since I did this 6 years ago but they are the same parts.
As far as the black paint i'm pretty sure I just picked up a $5 can of Krylon fusion. Did the trim in gloss black and the reflector in satin black.
Never did use the oven method. I did it all with the heat gun.

Also factor in a dremel and some jb weld to mount and secure the projector to the reflector bowl.

*edit* been a while but i think i might have used this relay harness.
