Problems installing Rough Country Leveling Kit on '13 FX4
I attempted an install of a 2.5" Rough Country front leveling kit on my 2013 Ecoboost FX4 crew cab today. Everything went well until it was time to reinstall the strut into the lower control arm. The strut (with the spacer installed) was too long for me to get it into the strut pocket in the lower arm. I have a ton of tools, and much experience modifying vehicles. I even have air tools and a strut-type spring compressor.
Long story short, I could not get the lower arm low enough to get the struts reinstalled. I re-assembled the truck without the spacers, and hung my head in shame. The video makes it look like it is a piece of cake (with no spring compressor needed), but I tried about everything I could think of. Has anyone installed this kit? Has anyone had to remove the lower ball joint to mount these kits? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What you need is two buddies to help you.
I have installed two leveling kits on new F-150's and the biggest aid to me was having at least one extra set of hands and then a crow bar to assist getting the lower strut mount back into its mounting bracket.

The jack between the truck and lower control arm is key,,,

I did the RC level by myself and it was a royal pain in the butt. I had a long pry bar under the strut bottom and the spoon end of the pry bar in the strut pocket and I used a dead blow to pound the strut over into the pocket. I will never level another ford!
