Default The "BIG 3" upgrade

I've never done this upgrade to my trucks but after reading some instructional threads on this I would like to know who has done this. I'm tired of my interior lights dimming when my bass drops!
If you have done this, what size wire did you use? Did it help? Cost efficient? Stock battery?

I don't have issues with dimming of any kind but would still like to do the big 3 mod.

I've never done this upgrade in my ford, mainly because I've never had a system that draws large amounts of power so I've never really needed to, and not that the process is any different in a different vehicle I was just throwing it all out there. I did do it in two cars I had in high school because I used to try and compete in SPL contests at my local sound shops. You wanna use the largest wire you can, most recommend 0 gauge for the upgrade but you could essentially even use as small as 8 gauge. I've always used 4 gauge because it was the best deal and worked fine for my system. I used it with a stock battery and it completely stopped the dimming in my old Nissan I did the upgrade in. Most would say it's cost effective because you're taking some strain off of your electrical/charging system so that's always a plus.

I want to do this mod before I install my new door speakers and amp

This works on older trucks. Don't need it on the newer trucks. It won't help with dimming. You need a 2nd battery for that.

I've read very mixed reviews on this in reference to our trucks which puzzles me

This is my question to any of my electric pros
How could I wire my second battery to where is recharges just as my primary battery would, but also have it to where when I am out at the ranch I can turn my lights and radio on without it pulling off of the battery responsible for cranking
Cheers

Battery Isolator. Did this back in college in my bass head days....just wire all your audio to the non-cranking battery.
