Praise for the N/A V6
Hi folks,
Been seeing a few more threads about the 3.7 L lately so thought I'd throw up my latest numbers over the past couple months.
Truck is a 2012 Supercab 3.7 with tow package (3.73 LS gears).
This includes several dump runs, lots of Home Depot runs, pulling a boat a few times, but also my commuting/baby hauling
I'm sorry to see this engine won't continue in 2015 but should be comparable to the NA 3.5 when it comes out...
Included both Cdn/US numbers.
Cheers

YEP Its a good motor
I don't off road, I don't tow big stuff. I haul stuff in the bed a lot and pull small things like trailers and cement mixers. Almost always around 21 mpg on the dash so if that's close to being trustworthy Im happy.
2011 SCAB XLT and couldn't be happier. I use the 6.5' bed, would have loved an 8' No Way on the 5.5'
Got it used for "a song" it had 16K miles now it has almost 40K and never a problem whatsoever
Getting ready to do my 3rd oil change and going to put in the Fomoto valve so no more oil spewing

I have the 2014 and sure like it. Only about 2500 miles on it and averaging about 19.5 mpg. Just driving miles...no tows, no loads. Glad I got it.
