Default Power running boards

I have a 2012 platinum and I was trying to set my running boards to the out position and can't seem to get it to work. Has anyone else had this issue or can someone advise?

Thanks in advance

Did you hit OK on the steering wheel after you selected the "out" on your screen? Also, make sure your switch is in the "on" position. I apologize in advance if you have already did these things. Other than those I'm at a loss to suggest anything else. Good luck, I hope nothing is wrong with them.

Spectragod, I'm pretty sure he knows that.

I have a 2010 platinum and I can set my running boards to the out position only when the vehicle is in park or off but as soon as I put it in gear they retract back in, I guess what i'm getting it is are you trying to put them in the out position and drive like that? I'm not sure if that's possible or not Just trying to help!

Good reminder Shannon, my '13 is the same way. Must be a safety thing as the boards are quite low when down.

I have the same issue and spoke with the dealer. This is standard that they only stay out until you move and then they reset Then they reset to auto. I have been looking for a mod that will keep them out when the truck is in park but move in when the truck is put into drive but had no luck. I have two young kids and with them getting in and out of the truck all the time it is dangerous that the boards keep going in and out. Also quite annoying. So can Ford have a setting where when you are in park they are out and in when not in park? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Could you put them in the open position and get up under the truck and unplug the connection at the motor?

That will only solve half the problem. I only want them down when I am in park and not moving. Also I want to keep the option to go back to auto mode.
