My 11 Lariat came with the power fold mirrors- it is part of the Luxury package which included heated/cooled seats, backup camera, and other toys.

What I did was a simple DPDT momentary switch that I installed just behind the mirror control switch.
I still have all the mirror functions, including memory, and can fold/unfold the mirrors with no problem.
I purchased the switch from www.digikey.com for a few bucks. The part number on the switch is SW311-ND.
I tapped into power on the driver's side door from the window power. This lets me fold the mirrors as long as the windows have power, which works until you open the door after shutting off the truck.
You will have to run wires from the doors under the dash to tie the mirrors together. Here's the post I put up regarding wiring through the doors:

Hope this helps.

Here's the wiring diagram I used:
^Good info here.

IMO don't use the relay, but DO use the factory Power Fold Switch in place of the stock switch. It is a snap-in replacement.

Default Lariat with power folds

I know if I could get a VIN on a model that came with power folds I could get it to work. It's right there in black and white on the wiring diagrams. These have to automatically fold with the key off, I want to make mine work. Not sure if the 2011 is the same as my 2010 but care to share the last 8 digits of your VIN? I could go visit my Lincoln mechanic and look up your wiring diagrams and see how they compare. What kills me is where does the *&$# relay fit!! Not in the dsm! I tried the whole dash, firewall, rear pillar (Josh suggested over the phone), nada.
My brother's is right on the firewall on his F250 but not mine. He's got power extend and fold towing mirrors. His was simple, mine not so. His was easy, he ordered it from Ford with them but they forgot at Dearborn so the dealer gave him the switch, mirrors and relay and we put it in, no flash btw (and no key-off), they needed a week to install and he was going on vacation so we did it.
I've spoken with 4 dealers, they're all willing to help but I have to bring it in, ka-ching. I might have to just to flash the memory so it picks up the mirrors, not sure. I'm not opting for semi-manual, I will get this to work. Anyone out there with a 2010 Lariat with factory power folds?!
I did this once (with help from a dealer mechanic but he moved) and can do it again (I hope). I have one more potential source at a dealer in NH, mechanic moonlights and might be willing to help..

Well, a couple of things I can tell you.
1. 2010 Lariats don't have a power fold option. It was only on the Plats and KRs for our MY.
2. I first tried to get my power folds to work with the factory switch. My dealer was willing to help and they told me they tried everything including trying to flash with a Platinum vin on their lot but no joy. They also called the Ford tech support hotline and were told there was no way to get this to work. That's why I went with the option I did.

I wish you luck in your endeavor but I fear you will be disappointed in the end.

Let me ask you, did your Lariat have all the connectors wired? Mine does which is why I'm thinking I have the trim level harness for power folds. I guess if all I can have is power fold via the switch it's better than having to fold them manually. This mechanic is going to log onto Ford's tech site hopefully today and see what he can find, and is also going to see if he can locate a VIN from a 2011 Lariat that came with factory power folds (if that was possible). There are three relay options I know of for the 150-250-350 trucks, my brother's 250SD took relay 2, I got relay 1 from Josh.
I poked around yesterday some and still can't find where the relay is supposed to be.

I have an FX4 with luxury package that was suppose to have the PF, but also got the Max tow and it got rid of them.

I just purchased a set of PF last week and got the caps painted a few days ago. i Will be installing them sometime next week.

All i purchased was the mirrors and switch, hoping that since my truck was suppose to come with PF they will just be plug and play. Will update the thread once i put them on.

On mine, the wires were at the mirror connectors and I checked the wires at the DSM. However, I couldn't find that there was a connection between the 2. I had purchased a complete wiring diagram book for the 2010 F150 and I think there are some in-line junctions between the 2 that don't have the through connections.
I've attached a copy of the wiring diagram from the book. Maybe this will help. Sorry about the legibility of the scan, I had to do a JPEG and reduce it a lot to get it to a size to attach.

Default Auto Folding & Power folding Mirrors 04-08 F150

I also want the power folding mirrors and here's what I plan on doing to my 07 Lariat:

So I took the 2007-2008 Ford Power Mirror electrical diagram and modified it adding the Power Folding Relay from Ford (P/N: 8C3z-14N089-A), this Korean made Smart Folding Mirror Module (P/N: ZMC-UV1 sold on ebay), the factory Switch (P/N: 7L1Z-17B676-AA) and the Power Folding mirrors from Kool Vue (P/N: FD149ER-S-PLK) or the Kool Vue Chrome ones (P/N: FD150ER-S-PLK) Everything else listed on that spreadsheet price list is really optional but you can take a look at it or PM me for the actual Spreadsheet.

Price List

Power Folding Mirror Diagram (Modified by me) showing only the additional wiring needed on top of what's already in the truck

Basically a picture of everything on the Price List.

ZMC-UV1: Smart Folding Module. this module will make the mirrors fold/unfold automatically when the ignition is off/on.

What's the last 8 digits of your VIN? I can chase your wiring diagram on Ford's mechanic help site.

I know that this is an old thread but FWIW, the 2008 Lariat Supercrew Cab that I just purchased came with the folding mirrors. It also has the towing package so I wish it had the extending towing mirrors. IDK if they fold though.
