Powder coat FX wheels
Anyone ever do this?
Love the FX style rims but I want them in black with red accents.
A local guy quoted me $425 for 4 wheels. He'll be sending me a Photoshop of the wheels with accents soon.
Are there any examples out there?

100 a wheel is pretty standard, but do research because powder coaters are EXTREMELY hit or miss in my experiences. I live in chicago and can only think of one operation id trust to powder coat my wheels

Remember, price does NOT dictate quality of finish or surface prep. Ask to see wheels etc. that were done by this shop and look for orange peel and or contaminants in the finish like lint/dirt specks. Could be a tell tale sign of what you can expect. Just some food for thought. Now IF the quality of work s there, JUMP on that price as it is really aggressive for all you are looking to have done.

Do your research. Thats an almost unheard of price given the fact that there is a color change and masking required. Agreed that the median price is around $100.00 per wheel, but there is no way I could do your wheels for that price.

I've seen his completed work as well and it looks great.
I appreciate your advice.
P.s. it was $380 for one color (black) the red is very little.
