Default Possible weird electrical problems

I have a 2012 super crew Platinum. The truck just turned 2500 miles. Last week I tried to open my rear slider and it would not move. After a couple of miles of pressing the switch it opened. I tried it a couple of times and it was fine again. Now it has happened almost every day. Yesterday I drove all the way home from work, 18 miles, and it would never open. I made an appointment, and now it works. I have a feeling it will work fine for them and it will not get fixed.

Now today I get in the truck. Put the key in the ignition. I do not turn it on, I am looking at my phone. Suddenly I hear something followed by a thud. This is a familiar sound to me. I open the door and notice my powered step is out. I get out and walk to the passenger side and that one is also out. Now what the heck happened there? The only way that I know how to do that is on the information screen. I did not even have the truck on. Anyone else have weird electrical problems?

P12, I haven't read any issues like this on the forum. That being said this will give you a free bump back to the top of the list. Maybe someone can help you out. Good luck.

BTW, have you considered the truck exorcized....

I haven't heard of this on any of our vehicles yet but I would suggest, at the very least, you take a quick video of the truck running and you pressing the rear slider when it's not working. At the very least you can show the dealer that the problem is legit in case it's working when you drop it off.

Demonstrating the power step isn't working is a whole other thing though - that's wierd and I'm not sure how you'd document it.

Thanks for the idea. Luckily I had the same idea the other day and got a nice video of it not working. Will see on Saturday if they do anything. I am feeling the old "we can't replicate it" excuse.

I have had multiple electrical issues and only at 2,700 miles.

Good luck, I have yet to be able to duplicate mine on a regular basis so I've not taken it into the dealer.
