Possible upgrade to the OEM subwoofer
#41
Well, I just installed the pioneer sub yesterday afternoon and am extremely disappointed with it. It sounds so much like the stock sub, I actually had to lay my hand on the box to make sure it was actually playing.
If anyone wants to buy a day old pioneer (without the original box), I'll give this one up for cheap.
Which model did you go with?

Wondering if the Pioneer sub needs a bit more power to drive for similar volume as OEM? On a 175 mile drive yesterday, my Pioneer sounded smooth at low to mid volume (radio certainly not cranked up). Honestly unsure which one sounds better - especially with polyfil already added...

Damn it! I just ordered this sub last night based off of the beginning of this post lol. I do have an alpine 500w amp from my previous truck. Maybe Ill try to pair the 2 up and see what happens.

I just installed this system today and all I can say is wow! I have the bass turned way down. It hits really hard. But to clarify the sub is a 10" not 20". Lol. Was worth every penny in my book.

it's $1,300 from the dealer, but you can find it WAY cheaper on Ebay.
