Remove no. Disable yes with a tuner.

For what I know, no, it's impossible to take them out without dismounting the tires. The TPMS sensor is actually pretty large. It would not fit through the whole, and you would deflate the tires anyway taking the valve stem out. Hope this helps!

Kind of.

Technically you don't have to remove the tire from the wheel, but you do have to break the bead. I do it all the time.

We just break the outside bead, then push down on the tire to access the sensor in the wheel. Then we unscrew the sensor from the valve stem and air the tire back up to seat the bead.

This applies to the newer style sensors that Ford uses. Would be very different for the old band style sensors.

Wouldn't the tire be slightly out of balance by just removing the sensor?

Can I do that without removing them from the truck? Long story short, Im getting aftermarket tires mounted on aftermarket rims and then taking them to another shop to have them balanced, aligned and my struts put in....yes, i know it sounds stupid not to get it all at one place but it's a long story and i'm trying to give a friend of the family my business.

Yes.

If they are going back on a vehicle they would be rebalanced. Usually the wheels and tires and being reused thus the reason they are removing the sensors to begin with. Sensors are usually removed because the owner bought new tires and wheels that will need the sensors installed in. The tires and wheels without the sensors are usually put on someone's garage or sold.

I have never had a customer have me remove the sensors from their tires and wheels just to put them back on the vehicle.
