They shouldn't say no, as long as you are under warranty. When I was at Ford I did jobs like this a lot. Approved every time. If they do give you ****, go to a different dealer. I've found most of the time, if a paint defect gets denied it's usually the dealer and not Ford.

thats a good point. I don't think I am that interested to be honest. especially if the repair could make it more noticeable. I wish I hadn't seen it. I just had the side graphics installed and was curious how they were holding up. never examining my truck again haha

I agree here^ and I'm a painter!! Not that a repaint would bother me, it's just a small defect like that, doesn't. But that's just me. It wouldn't be more noticeable at all. But, I've redone whole panels on tri stage pearl colors for a dust nib in the base coat the size of a pen tip. That's what the customer wanted. I have a piece of painted over welding slag on my windshield pillar, it's still there to this day, because it's just not worth it to fix it, to me.

I had the same issue, but a few more contaminates on other areas of my truck. Also there was a scratch on the roof, apparently from shipping. In fact, I took it back to the dealer today and discussed the issues. They will fix all the paint issues under warranty.
I asked a bunch of questions about the quality of their work, as well as made it clear that I would not be happy if the repair could be discerned from the factory paint. In light of the MSRP of the vehicle, I couldn't imagine how my truck passed Ford's quality control. It was one of the last ones made at the Kansas plant, so they probably rushed it out the door so they could shutdown production and start retooling for the 15s. I agree with the comments above about having a repainted panel, and it possibly bothering me more than if I left the paint issue alone. If the dealer doesn't live up to their promised quality standards, I will have to deal with it then.
