Default Possible to give chrome grill "brushed" look

I have seen chrome wheels dulled by a scotch pad to give them a brushed look. Is it possible to do something like this on the chromed plastic grill?

I sanded the chrome grill surround on my 2013 V6 Mustang in a failed custom grill attempt, and it looked brushed when sanded down. If done right it could look very good, but it would be a ton of work. the scratches where really hard on the eyes when the sun hit them. it would be a ton of sanding and buffing, and who knows what the long term look would be. Might be really nice if done right.

If i remember correct they make an acid stuff that will dull it down and looked like brushed. Not so harsh that it will eat the plastic though. I cant remember the name of it and cant find it on a search. Ive seen people do the scotchbright pad as well and they looked good. Just keep all your strokes in the same direction and use a super fine pad. If you clear coat it afterwards get a quality grade clear and not a cheap spray can. And prep is everything, prep it right and the clear will last forever.

Ive heard rubbing compound with a real fine grit to it works too but ive never tried it. Go to the junkyard and practice on their cars first is what i would do,lol

Just put some matte clear plastidip on it. Should do the trick.

This is what I would recommend to try first too. If you don't like it, just peel it off!

Also you could try to vinyl wrap the grill with a bushed chrome vinyl. Definitely more time consuming though...

Did a search on mate clear plasti dip, that looks like it might be what im after except for the texured finish it seems to leave. Maybe it can be wet sanded or something.
