So I guess my answer is a no go for OEM touchscreen. And my best bet is to go with a new HU with a maestro or scosche dash kit?

Yes, it will be way easier and you'll get better features and sound out of it!

I love Kenwood products, but yeah this is better then OEM. More flexibility if you decide to do any other sound upgrades.

Scorche is the better one. It's a thicker material and it's HU opening is tighter around head unit whereas the Metra kit has a trim piece and looks crappy.
