Yes - noise is present, proceed to Step 2.

Is the noise heard at the rear driveshaft u-joint area?
Yes - apply a few drops of Motorcraft® Penetrating and Lock Lubricant to each of the driveshaft universal joint retaining clips and wipe off excess and retest. If the noise is resolved repair is complete release vehicle to the customer. If the noise is still present proceed to Step 3.
No - proceed to Step 3.
With the vehicle in neutral, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to WSM, Section 100-02.

Apologies... I was in the process of editing the post (trouble pasting the content) to include the relevant content before I could do that you responded.

In the OP the work was done quickly and required a return. This was my attempt to provide an explanation to his and similar posts why by posting the TSB.

Once again, sorry for my inability accomplish this.

kev, I hope they get yours fixed this time. You've had a helluva time with that truck. Good luck.

OP, it's good to hear about a positive experience at a dealership after some of the stories I have read on the forum. FYI, my dealer is one of the good ones also.

My dealer didn't do TSB 13-7-7, they replaced the entire driveshaft. So far so good.

i8iridium,

I sure can! Just PM me your name, phone number, VIN and mileage.

JWM1986 and bodam,

I'm happy to document your feedback, as well. Just PM me the same info.

Yes clicks more now than before tsb. I must note I am happy with my dealer as they have always done good work. I am taking it back for them to review and hopefully shed some light as to why it is back. This issue is a Ford issue not a dealer problem. So here is to hoping Ford engineers get it right because others have also had tsb done for it to come back.

Ugh.... That Suks, hope they get yah fixed up... My rearend makes a Clunk when shifting into Reverse... Or when shifting from Reverse to Drive! Does that TSB apply to that, or is it something different...

Curious as
I'm at 33,800 miles on my truck now!

Default My story for TSB 13-7-7

I did a writeup of my experience for the repair of my 2013 F150 supercrew with 19k miles on it. The drive train was making a clicking noise. Hopefully it helps others with this problem.
I dropped my truck off at Longmont Ford around 5PM on 03/23/15 with Josh. I told him the drive train was making a clicking noise and that I believed it was related to TSB 13-7-7. I showed him the video I took of the noise on my IPAD and explained how to duplicate the problem. (In the video I had my boat hitched on and I was going back and forth in my driveway which is on an incline.)
On 03/24/15 around noon I called in for an update. I was told they couldn't duplicate the problem and that I might have to come in to duplicate the problem or bring the video back in. I told them I could send them the video via a dropbox link. Josh was leaving and asked I send the video to Rich. I sent the video to Rich along with these statements "Attached is the video and TSB". https://www.dropbox.com/s/hxf7y4si2v...10.31.mov?dl=0 (If prompted to login to dropbox just close out popup) TSB 13-7-7 has been updated to TSB 14-0090. I am pretty confident this applies to my issue. To duplicate it without the boat you can be in drive then back up an incline. I can also get it to do it going back and forth between drive and reverse and giving it a little gas to put it under a load. It has to be under a load. You aren't going to be able to duplicate it on your racks. It is definitely something in the driveshaft(u-joint) or rear end."
I called around 3pm on 03/24/15 to talk to Rich and was told Rich was busy and he would call me back. I never received a call back. The next morning on 03/25/15 I called in again and left a message for Rich on his phone. Once again I did not receive a call back. I then called back into service and talked to Josh. Josh informed me that they still couldn't duplicate my problem even though I gave specifics on how to duplicate it. He said I will have to come in and duplicate the problem. I was now getting . They have had my truck for 2 days and haven't even duplicated the problem. I mentioned the above TSB again and was told the technician said it did not pertain because the issue I was having is multiple clicks and the TSB describes one click. I asked if they had a small trailer with a load that they could hook up and they said no. I then asked if they tried applying the brake and go between drive and reverse so it puts the drive train under a load. They said no. So at this point I left my job 45 minutes away to drive to Longmont to duplicate the problem. As soon as I was getting into town Josh called me and said they were able to duplicate the problem by applying the brake and they are diagnosing the issue.
Around 4pm on 03/25/15 Josh called to tell me the problem is the driveshaft and the part would not be in until Monday 03/30/15. I went and picked up my truck that evening as I needed it that weekend and told them I would drop it off on Monday 03/30/15. Five minutes from the dealer while going down a slight incline I put the truck in reverse and immediately heard the clicks that they had such a hard time duplicating. Even though I told them to do this exact same thing to duplicate the problem.
I returned the truck the evening of 03/30/15 and asked if the driveshaft came in. I was told Yes. The driveshaft was there. On the morning of 03/31/15 I received a call from Josh that they can't find the driveshaft and that Ford might have sent it to another dealer. Josh said he was looking into it and would get back with me. Later that day Josh called and told me the driveshaft might show up on the morning shipment on 04/01/15. If not he would have someone drive down south and get it.
I received a call the morning of 04/01/15 from Josh. He tells me the driveshaft was not on the shipment and he would send someone down to pick it up somewhere down South. Later that afternoon Josh called me back and said they have the driveshaft and installed it but the noise is still present. They were going to perform TSB 14-0090 but they have to order the parts which would be there on 04/02/15.
On the afternoon of 04/02/15 I receive a call from Josh saying the parts came in, TSB 14-0090 was performed, the noise is gone and my truck is ready to be picked up.
I am thankful my truck is no longer making the clicking noise but it should not have taken 5 days esp when I referenced the exact TSB and explained how to duplicate the problem. I was never offered a rental car and there is no shuttle service to take customers between the dealer and home.
On my invoice it had the information below. This is not what happened. They replaced the driveshaft 1st and the problem was still present then they performed the TSB. I really doubt the driveshaft needed replaced.

#1 Drivetrain: Repair/Concern
C/S there is a clicking type noise heard from the drive train when moving forward or reversing more so when under load. Can really hear when going forward and reversing multiple times. Customer found TSB 13-7-7 thought it may be related.
Caused by Failed Drive Shaft Part Number 4602
Installed N800594 S100 : Bolt Qty: 4
Installed DL3Z 4602 K : Shaft Asy - Drive Qty 1
Installed BL3Z 4676 A : Seal Asy - Oil Qty 1
Installed FL3Z 7N357 A : Shim Qty 1
Verified customer concern, Found TSB 14-0090. 1: Yes. To Step 2: Yes, Applied penetrating lubricant to the driveshaft U-Joint retaining clips. No Change. Following the remaining steps listed in the TSB, R & R rear pinion seal and oil slinger. Re-installed driveshaft and concern still present. Shop foreman assisted in pinpointing noise to the driveshaft. R&R new driveshaft and driveshaft to pinion flange bolts. Retest and customer concern no longer present at this time.
