The unlock trigger was much more difficult to find. In this thread it appeared that it would be either a Purple/Gray or Gray/Purple wire. I checked all of them and had no luck. I ended up checking all of the wires in the loom and eventually found that it was a Blue wire with a yellowish/green tracer.
13 Screw Front driver side is same correct colors are Grey/Brown and Blue/Yellowish Green thank you for posting that I too was looking for Purple Gray which was incorrect for my 13. The spacer idea was awesome to made it way easy.
Here is the full post lotsa good ideas. I used the ebay actuator and the spacer idea.

Pop and Lock
Fellows,
If I may ask about this item. So it will unlock and lock your tail gate correct?
You can use your normal key Fob to operate it? How does that work?
Is it very hard or difficult to install? I'm pretty mechanical but I hate fooling with the electrics in a new vehicle....then again this seems like a cool item to have.
And if you would could you explain the sewing needle trick? please....
One other question, why does Amazon say the model no. given in the original thread is not compatible with with a 2013 F150? PL8250 and you all say it does.
Oh yea, I have a ScrewCab is that an issue.
Thank you

Installation looks to be pretty straight forward. I have one ordered myself to install. $74 on ebay.
Sewing needle trick is just using a needle to pierce wires to find them without cutting or stripping them.
The PL8250 kit works on the late model tailgates (with the manual lock).

I've found when purchasing stuff for my '13 XLT Screw from Amazon I first have to go to sites such as Auto Anything or Street Auto to find the correct part number then go to Amazon because just as you ran into Amazon's "See if this fits your vehicle" isn't always correct and it doesn't hurt to price check because I've found cheaper prices than Amazon sometimes.
Now just get yourself the tailgate assist and some LED's for the bed and your set, both are great adds and even though the tailgate isn't that heavy it is really nice to pull the handle and walk away and the LED add is cheap and at night you'll really appreciate it when looking for things in your bed. Wire the LEDS into the same wire you used for your lock and the lights will come on with your key fob or you can just leave your door open if you want the lights on longer.
I've also purchased the stubby antenna ($25) not a necessary add-on but its nice not seeing large wire antenna. The reception is good too I took a thousand mile trip and radio reception was normal.
