Finally got mine installed. The first one sent was the PL 8200, which I quickly realized would not work. Waited two weeks for the RMA from neverenoughauto and still waiting for the refund. Received the correct PL8250from ac3001 very quickly. Directions are not crystal so it took some thinking and common sense but got it done. Seems to stick a little sometimes but a second lock/unlock command does the trick if necessary. I no longer need to worry if I locked the tailgate anymore.

I ended up checking all of the wires in the loom and eventually found that it was a Blue wire with a yellowish/green tracer.

13 Screw Front driver side is same correct colors are Grey/Brown and Blue/Yellowish Green thank you for posting that I too was looking for Purple Gray which was incorrect for my 13. The spacer idea was awesome to made it way easy.

Here is the full post lotsa good ideas. I used the ebay actuator and the spacer idea.
Thank you, sir. You saved me a lot of time and headache. Your blue with green stripe wire was spot on.

I'll add, that you might need to add some washers between the actuator bracket and scissor link bracket for proper clearance. My actuator arm was hitting a tailgate structure beam and needed two washers to clear and work as expected.

Thanks again, Caperj.

Another option: I went to an car audio shop and paid the guy 100 to wire the lock to my key fob & and to wire my gps & radar detector behind the dash. It locks every time no issues in 2 years

Also as a back up I put a c clamp around the tail gate hinge

Just installed mine this weekend. I LOVE it. Did anyone else with a super crew find the long wire was too short to run through the firewall? No matter how many ways I tried running it it was too short. I ended up cutting the two feet of slack in the short section that sits inside the tailgate and connecting that to the long inside the drivers side front so that I could reach a spot to use the wire taps...

I just ran mine through the rubber boot that the ebrake cable comes in to the cab, waterproof and had 2ft extra.

...not bashing, I just don't get it when there is such a cheap yet proven alternative.
Because I prefer a complete solution with instructions and a warranty?

Yeah sorry that's what I meant, not the firewall. I came in through the tailgate and followed the main set of cables to the left (drivers side) and followed the frame rail and in through the ebrake cable boot and was short. Not sure what happened. You have a supercrew?

Nothing wrong with either way. Some people just want to engineer their own stuff...some like simple and easy...not really about price. Me? I went simple and easy.

I installed mine this weekend I my 2013 SuperCrew and love it. I actually just drilled a 3/8" hole where I spliced into the wires and installed a 3/16" rubber grommet which gave the wires a tight fit. I had about 2' extra wire.

It took a bit to run the wire up because I'm so **** about it looking nice and protected :-)

I did put some silicon grease on the mechanism because I read where it would bind. I also placed a washer under the bracket because I also read that it would give it clearance so it wouldn't bind. It works great.
