Guys I need help

I'm not sure how the actuator works, but I can only get it to Lock. I have it hooked to the wires it listed in the instructions, but it will not even try to unlock when I use the remote. It said use grey wire with brown stripe for lock, and either purple with grey stripe or light blue with light green stripe for unlock - I tried both for unlock and it does nothing. Am I missing something our did I get a dud?

Anybody put one of these on a 2013, is there a different color wire I need to be using?

Have you verified that the wire you tapped into is giving you an block signal when you unlock the doors? If not, you're on the wrong wire. If it does test out fine then you need to start at the front and work your way back. Make sure the tap is making a good connection first. If that is fine then make sure the wire is making a good connection to the tap. If that is fine then you need to make sure the connection at the actuator is good. If you are getting an unlock signal at the wire to the actuator then it's possible you have a bad actuator. Not common, but I have seen it.

Start by making sure you are on the right wire. There can be multiple wires that are the same color on the same harness. Verify by testing and don't trust the color itself.

Ok

I think the actuator may be bad because even if I switch the wires the actuator never pulls in which would unlock. If it was working, it should try to unlock when I switch the wires and press lock , right?

This is from another post I did when I did it.

I ended up checking all of the wires in the loom and eventually found that it was a Blue wire with a yellowish/green tracer.

13 Screw Front driver side is same correct colors are Grey/Brown and Blue/Yellowish Green thank you for posting that I too was looking for Purple Gray which was incorrect for my 13. The spacer idea was awesome to made it way easy.

Here is the full post lotsa good ideas. I used the ebay actuator and the spacer idea.

Go to this thread on the forum, someone with a 2012 Lariat had wiring problems and posted the right ones to use. Lots of other forums talking about wiring issues with this lock too. Hope this helps.

GREAT deal for Pop and Lock PL8250....tailgate power lock

That would be my assumption too.

Just do me a favor and make sure you are getting correct signal from both with to the actuator first.

Thanks for the help guys, I finally found it thanks to your help. It was a blue wire with an aqua/turquoise stripe. there was another one the same color, that I tried last night, but when I went back in tonight I found the other one.

I also had to use 3 small washers under the actuator mount to get it off of the locking switch in the tailgate, works great now!

Thanks again!
