Default Pop & Lock for 2013?

I am trying to order a Pop & Lock power tailgate lock for my 2013 Lariat but want to make sure i'm ordering the right model.

On the Pop & Lock website it list the PL8250 as fitting 1997 and up models with factory lock, but I went on amazon to order one and it said this item will not fit your vehicle, I tried it on another website and it said the same thing.

Can anybody who has put one of these on verify that the PL8250 will actually fit on the 2013 trucks?

I installed this (PL8250) on my 2013 XLT, it fits fine.

It will fit just fine, and is one of the first modifications anyone should do for their truck. You'll love walking away, hitting the remote and knowing your tailgate is locked too.
It's been discussed here before, but really, Ford-- this should have been a factory feature on at least the XLT and up.

Confirmed 8250 works on 2013. Great mod. I went to passenger kick plate and used a test lamp with sowing needle to find correct wires.

It is a power lock that locks/unlocks your tailgate when you lock/unlock your doors with the key remote.

I have been keeping mine locked (because dealership warned of high theft rate due to the back up camera) but it pisses me off that I forget everytime I go to open it and it's locked!

Thanks for the feedback guys, I just wanted to confirm that I was ordering the correct model. I'm going to put the order in now.

I'll never understand why people buy this when they can buy the model from eBay for $4, shipped. Yeah, I understand it has the metal bracket already attached but for $100 I'll gladly screw the actuator on my truck manually.

...not bashing, I just don't get it when there is such a cheap yet proven alternative.

Never heard of this option. If it is really the same thing, I'll cancel the $80 order I just put in at amazon!

More info please?

This has been beat to death. Some, myself included, have never understood why someone would hack it up when an engineered product is already built specific for the vehicle.

I mean really, we're not talking about a $5,000 item here. Not to mention some of these trucks cost in excess of $50,000 to start with. Why would one hack it up on a truck this expensive?

Buck
