thanks Nick, ZMam22,
It has a very soft smooth glow, I would say maybe 10/15% brighter than the ELwire. My current issue is finding a adhesive that will bond to the tube. I've tried a few that should work with fiberglass, etc. but so far no go
Works great with tape on it though, lol.

Oh that looks real good! I like that a lot. You are right though, seems kind of difficult to find a way to adhere that into the proper area...one question, how are you getting access to your center console from there? I can't see any way to get a wire in the console without going through the obvious top (but that would look awful...)

have you guys thought of just running some kind of clear spacer inbetween the chrome part and the cupholder like thick fishing line or something like that? and then just line some every-day RGB flexible led strip/wire along the backside of it so it would shine though the fishing line just like it was lighting up...that can't be too hard. that way you could have the multi-color option. you would just need something clear like a fishing line to use as a spacer in between the chrome part and cup holder to let the light in. what do you think about that idea?

Yup my first attempt was some clear aquarium tubing to get the gap open and I tried the led string from my kit inside the console. When I turned it on the way the chrome and cup piece sandwiched together produced an uneven muddy glow
My cables are routed up under the trim going to the center console space. After you lift up there is some good room for cable routing
Thanks for the ideas, fresh minds and all that stuff. Keep em coming

Give it a try. I don't see why it wouldn't work. I just still don't understand how you mount the actual fishing line or whatever tubing material inside the cup holder without having visible packing tape. I mean, I suppose you could glue it in there...but I wouldn't want to do that.
