Pic #3: the contours of the fenders and hood don't match mid-way down the hood. You can see in the reflection that the hood isn't bent or warped...

And here's more of the same on the drivers side. Not off by much but where two straight body lines meet, it's too much for my liking

You can also see the difference in hood/fender contours at the top of this photo as well...

Agree/disagree???

I agree somewhat. I will have to take a closer look at my hood now but nothing immediately comes to mind except I always thought the gap between the headlights and hood is too wide and does not line up with fender. Will give report when I get home

No reason to not send your issue to Ford. Be interesting if you hear back on the subject.

I have the exact same thing. Whats strange is that my truck is a 2010. The factory hood matched perfectly. However, this past december a wind storm blew my kids basketball hoop down on my hood. it was not repairable due to gauges and location of creases. I patiently waited not wanting to shell out the $1500 for replacment hood and painting. Two weeks ago a truck customization shop ran an ad about getting rid of factory parts. They are in the business of adding lifts, tires, and fiberglass add-on for dealers. I went by their shop and they had a shed full of factory takeoff in various colors. I scored an exact color matched hood for $250. I came home and installed it. Only difference is my old hood had a 5.4L sticker and the new hood has a 5.0 sticker. The install was breeze, just a few screws and broken grill clips. However, the new hood is flush at the hinges, depressed in the center and flush at the end of the fender. Same exact thing. It could be a stamping issue. My old truck was perfect and there is no adjustment to fix the middle. It doesnt bother me enough to change since I lucked out, but I can see the difference.

hood to headlight in this one is normal. hood to fender is definitely off though.

Just because it is normal doesn't mean it's correct! I think Ford should have made a better effort to align the fender and hood body lines above the headlights.

I have seen the same thing in other trucks but can anyone out there think of a vehicle that intentionally produced body panels that don't line up? This seems like poor quality control or bad design.

Because i never noticed this on my truck, i checked it out. On mine a '10, and a co workers '11. On both trucks the lines are even, and fit perfectly. Probably why I've never noticed.

Did you buy the truck new? Used? Have you brought it back to the dealer yet, and showed them?

Other than this one I see nothing wrong. This one looks like it needs adjusting to me.

I have the same problem with my hood and fenders lining up along with the piece between the bumper and the grill and headlights sits too high in the middle. Went to the dealership in Denver and they said they would fix it. Phil Long has had a great service department so far.

And yours are nowhere near as bad as mine. Mine is at least 1/4".

I'm about to head out in the parking lot to go eat, and I will look at mine, along with a gaggle of Chevy's, Dodge's and other vehicles.
I shall come back with a FULL report.
