Serious Problem with front end
My father-in-law bought his 2012 F-150 Ecoboost 4X4 SCrew in Feb of this year. He drives a lot and has about 30,000 miles on the clock already. His driver side front tire is being ate up. He has been though the original tire the spare and is now working on the third tire. It wears the inside edge off the tire down to nothing. The passanger side is not affected in any way. It has been back to Ford 4 times now and they keep telling him the alignment and true and an independent shop verified that it is not out of alignment. Anyone else have this problem or have heard of anything like this?

Sounds like the truck was possibly purchased used? Was the truck in an accident by the previous owner?

One Bad MoFoMoCo Owner
Sounds like a bad bushing, as mentioned above.
Put the truck on jack stands and try to move the tire by pushing inward on the bottom of the tire on both sides. You are likely going to find the side eating tires has play in it, while the other doesn't. Then inspect all the bushings by using a very large flat edge or a small pry bar, and pushing on the joints at all the bushings. The one that moves is the one that needs to be replaced.

He bought the truck brand new off the lot. No wrecks, no off roading, just highway miles. He puts in 4X4 once a month to keep things lubed up. The only aftermarket anything he as done to it is put at Damage Multiplier (grill guard) on the front. Ford has had the truck for a week now and called him yesterday and said everything was within their specs and they just don't know what is wrong with it. They have a "field tech" from Ford coming in to look at it today or tomorrow.

I hope the alignment guy checked the front end before checking the alignment... They are supposed to see if something is worn or that won't allow a true reading. If they even checked... I had my work truck at ford for an alignment, they told me they checked it and it was good, but they never even put it up on the rack... The manager and I...We had words!!
I would agree that it's an alignment issue, bring it to a reputable shop and watch them the entire time, make em give you a printout for the before and after... Most modern alignment machines have the ability to do a printout.
Good luck

Keepin' the lights on!
Did they give him a printout of the alignment? If so, post it. Lets see what he's working with. Also, just because it is "in tolerance" doesn't mean it's right.
