platinum power running boards stuck..
Hey guys I've searched and can't find anything to help me. The power running board on the driver side of my truck started acting up out of nowhere yesterday. It was down and when I closed the door it only went up about half way and will not go past that point. I tried a slight amount of force and nothing. Just wondering if anyone has had this problem?

Look for rocks or other debris that might have been lodged in the mechanism.

Checked them all over for debris... nothing, I had them off the truck all apart and the motor would move them manually they would go up and down no problem. So i put them back up all the way plugged them back in and they would only come down half way and come back up. I'll just take it to ford to get looked at but i already know what they're going to say...

Hi I have this same problem too. The passengers side power board will travel about a third of the way up and stop. If I keep opening and closing the door quickly it will travel all the way up again, but only a third of the way up at a time (each door close)
Any ideas, it's tough to find this solution out there.

I had the same issue this summer. Finally got around to washing everything, let it dry and hit it with white lightning spray. Seems to have solved the issue on both steps, time will tell.

Thanks guys. I've lubed a bunch but I'll get back to a pressure washer and clean out the hinges again carefully. I thought it was mechanical since it seems to travel the same distance before stopping no matter where it is in its swing path.
But, I'll give it another good cleaning and a multiple lubes and see if it helps.
