I need some opinions. I want to do some slight changes to my Plat.
Now, my mind is telling me that i love the look of the headlight/tail light combo and the white mirror caps of the 11 lariat limited. I know it's my truck, do what i like, just want another opinion. Would it be silly/unheard of to put older/diff. model (ford) truck parts on my 2012. Plus i dont want to take the "platinum" out of my Platinum..lol This is all i had planned on doing to the exterior...plus wheels and remove chrome strips on doors and level kit. I also thought about waiting for the 2013 HID's from ford.

lemme know what you all think.

also, has anybody done the light swap i'm contemplating. i did search, didnt find any.

thanks

It's not only the Limited that the smoked lights and caps come on LOL!

You can pick up some brand new smoked lights from a new Harley Davidson or FX4 thru tasca or something. Plus the white caps can be ordered from a new Lariat.

Your not going to want to remove the door trim....there's guide pin holes underneath.

Here's how I personalized my Platinum:

I would like to get some Sterling Grey mirror skull caps though.

Cool, thanks guys.

I can deal with the strips. I'm not a huge fan of "bling" though.
I would love some of your retro's, seems a little much $.<----I understand they are custom. How much american?
Your truck looks sweet!

My price list:

Even if you go with the FX/HD heads and tails, that will drastically change the look of your Platinum.

I think in a good way....especially if your wanting eliminate chrome. Worst case scenario, you sell 'em...HD/FX lights are always in demand!

if you want to remove all of the "trim" that makes it a platinum, why didnt you save yourself some cash and get a lariat or fx4?

i think the mirror caps would look good, but dont take the chrome trim off.

I'm not going to, only because of the hole's behind it. I dont think that trim makes it a platinum. Like I said i'm not a fan of too much chrome. I'm gonna use the stock wheels in winter. I'm gonna get the mirror caps also. to each his own

You know, you could always mask off the door trim and paint it...wouldn't be hard, or even better yet, go with the Plasti-dip trend...and if ya don't like, peel it off.

I love the Platinum as well, but chrome is not my thing either, I can live with a small amount. Piece by piece, motorcycle is getting blacked out too...with just splashes of chrome.
