The Raptor would not make sense for my work given the long drives and the poor fuel economy with the 6.2L engine. It would run me thousands more every year and that didn't make sense. I went with the 5.0L because of the number of complaints with the EB here, and because I didn't like it when I test drove it.
Based on this and your other comments in the thread you have put some thought into this purchase and made a reasonable decision on your wants, needs, and hopefully income. I personally would never purchase a Platinum. My XL 4x4 was exactly what I wanted and a little of what I needed. It also fit my budget. As for your Platinum you get classy and capable. Take some pics off road when it comes in. Some of us enjoy seeing pics of a dressed up lady having fun and getting dirty.

How so? What do they expect you to do with a truck? Take the wife and kids to the grocery store and load the bed with milk and eggs? Come on

Strip off all the fancy bits and the name- it's still an F150. Suspension, frame, everything is F150. If your not worried about marking her up accidentally, it will do just fine- as mentioned. Mines no platinum, but I beat the crap out of it in the bush. You just have to be more particular of your lines you follow, realize its no rock crawler, and the fact that she's a big lady and needs a bit more room than a lot of the smaller 4x4's. upgrade your rubber, maybe your shocks if its something youll do regularly, and know the trucks weaknesses, keep it safe and have fun! It's hard to swallow the payment on a truck like that without being able to enjoy it.

Come on guys, *PLATINUM* - (Where LUXURY meets BAD AZZ)

My girl likes the backwoods during the day and fine dinning in the evening.
