Is the Platinum not really for Off-Road?

biggest difference of not having the FX4 (off road) package IMO is not having the locking diff (pull 4x4 button to engage) which makes off road a lot easier but you can still get by on limited slip (I do)

pretty much the same as putting on tow haul mode and tapping the breaks to downshift. except done automatically by the ABS system, its an option that started on SVT Raptor, then SD, now regular F150s

Good point, I agree, very important, that's why I am getting the 3.73 e-locker on the Platinum, it's available on the 2013.

You're just crazy, I would never do that to my F150. I would be too afraid to break something ;-)
Who said the Scorpion where bad at offroading?! As we can see now they are pretty capable tires!

Those classy *** Platinums should stay on the road where they look good....My buddy took his offroad last year and "overdrove" it a little...Broke my heart lol. Platty's shouldn't see more than deep snow and light gravel, but yeah, they'll go offroad and be as capable as any other F-150. If I had one I'd keep it clean and road worthy and buy some old truck for offroading.
