Default Is the Platinum not really for Off-Road?

I see the Platinum doesn't offer the Off-Road Package, nor Hill Descent and I can't get Off-Road tuned shocks. It also doesn't come with A/T tires. However, I see it offers 4x4 (and 4L), so what's the story with the Platinum and going off road? Is it less capable? Thanks!

It has a hover feature which allows it to float over any obstacle....... :-).

Its equally capable. You can still disable the Advancetrac system. The shocks will just wear a little faster with the abuse of the off road environment.

Thank you! I had Hill Descent in another vehicle and I didn't like it because I didn't feel in control, so that doesn't matter. I was more wondering about the shocks/suspension but you've answered it. Again, thanks.

It's an F-150. It'll be ok.

If your planning on taking it off road often I'd consider different tires but other then that go for it...Built Ford Tough doesn't stop with the higher trim levels

Yup, I'm going to purchase a set of 18" AT tires, although I wish I could purchase her with the A/T tires from the get-go.

Work at your dealer a bit if you haven't signed anything yet. You might convince them to toss in a set of good AT's for nothing or next to it. Worth a try.

I tried this, no luck. Signing later today, after work. Not getting any movement from them on anything, not even with my trade in, they offered me $500 less on the KBB Fair value. I think the problem is I'm ordering it, it's not from stock.
