I Traded our 2011 Platinum blk/brunello for a 2015 Platinum blk/brunello and lived
2010:
Evil equestrian high school daughter, under threat of prolonged pout, connives us into looking at new 2010 King Ranch Crew Cab Black/tan loaded. We are brainwashed by the excess room, luxury and ride and trade in our Yukon Denali...
Guess who put on most of the 48,000 miles?
2014:
Evil daughter, now a college sophomore, uses new threat of prolonged, unavoidable 'I need a car to drive to class' logic.
She then brainwashed us by showing us how much the used King Ranch (still in 'like new 'condition with never a mechanical issue) is worth (wow).
She then connives us into trading in King Ranch for 2 vehicles:
a high mileage (71,000 miles) 'like new' fully loaded 2011 Platinum Ecoboost, (black / brunello, all options) with a 36,000 mile Ford ESP warranty,
and a 2007 Fully loaded Mercury Mountaineer Premier AWD for her.
Our new daily mantra:
thank you, oh truck Gods, for F150 reliability and retained value, Platinum power running boards, new electric power steering and the way cool ambient lighting
October 2016:
2011 Platinum now has about 88,000 miles, still in 'like new' condition and never a mechanical issue, but now losing value faster than declining loan balance.
Having learned from evil daughter, I connived my bride of 25 years into getting a newer, lower mileage Platinum, which she agreed to as long as I can keep the loan payment about the same.
on Halloween We drove 200 miles to Bellingham WA area and traded in the 2011 Platinum for this showroom condition 2015 Platinum Ecoboost:
22,000 miles, 2 years left on original warranty, price paid was only about $500 more than KBB/NADA dealer trade-in value
black / brunello again (unless you knew you can barely tell the difference visually from the 2011 Platinum, which we like)
with almost every option offered on the build sheet (max tow, 36 gal tank, tech package w/adaptive CC, FX4 off road, parking assist, 3.55 gears, power tow mirrors, sprayed-on bed liner, etc, etc...
After owning it for a month: We...LOVE...THIS...TRUCK.
Our new daily mantra:
thank you, oh truck Gods, for automatic 4WD, massaging seats, adaptive cruise control, forward grill camera and updated navigation...say it and mean it
Oh, and as an old muscle car guy with several Mustang Cobras and a Vette under his belt, I happen to LOVE that silly pretend V-8 sound that comes out of the speakers when you hit the gas on the Ecoboost! Just too cool. Who ever came up with that idea, probably while under the influence, has definitely earned an extra ration of rum.
Anyway, I am a new Forum member in the Pacific Northwest.
And, sorry, I've been too lazy to take new picts of the new truck; these are from the original ad.

Just a heads up, I have a near perfect set of 2016 PVD Chrome 20" Lariat wheels that I will be posting up for sale in the next few days if any of you fellow Platinum owners are interested. They look awesome with the chrome accents on our trucks.
