Yes, there is a gloss clear. It's called "glossifier". I've used PD in the past, and am thinking of having my chrome package 18" wheels, and possibly my running boards done in the new aluminun colour, with a coat of glossifier over that. Possibly my bumpers, and chrome 6 bar grille at a later date.
Haters gonna hate, and it can be overdone, but I did some wheels for my Ranger a couple years ago, and it held up very well with no problems through a northern Michigan winter.

It's the type of "matte" that matches the factory exterior plastic (plastic bumpers, fender flares, etc) really well. It does have a small amount of shine to it, but not a gloss by any means. Like others have said, there's a glossifier that you can buy to spray over it to give it a glossy look. You can also use the glossifier by itself if you want to protect certain areas of your vehicle. I've seen a clear bra that was sprayed on glossifier and it really did protect the paint underneath.

thanks guys. my truck is black, so i thought having it glossy would blend better. definitely going to look into this. if it works, it'll save me the hassle of dropping the grille off and waiting to be powder coated, plus i'd imagine the powder coat would be more expensive. how many coats are you guys putting on your front bumper or grilles?

Bare minimum five, more is better.

I know this is an older post, but can you go into more detail about how to etch out around the chrome letters? Did you use an exacto knife or something? Some people put the blue tape down over the letters and then cuts around the numbers. Did you do that? Also, did you wait until it was all the way dry when you started cutting around the letters?

Thanks in advance. That looks quite good.

are you trying to do the front emblem or the sides? If I remember correctly, I used a razor to start peeling the letters on my front emblem and the rest just peeled up.

The side emblems are 2 pieces so the chrome trim and numbers can be separated.
