You have to peel tape up when it's wet
So, peel when it's still wet after the last coat you do?

spray everything besides the area close to the tape line as usual with multiple coats. when the rest of area is all dipped, spray a few thick coats back to back along the tape line, and then peel the tape off as soon as you're done, before the dip has the chance to flash off.

Looks sweet! I'm trying to do the same thing you did. How did you remove the dip from the letters? I started to try with a toothpick tonight but it didn't seem like it would work too well..

For everyone thinking about doing their wheels I suggest you watch this.

Dipp-your-car has a lot of DIY video's using Plasti-dipp.

For those who have done the chrome bumpers , how are they holding up? Did you all pull the bumpers off o just tape the **** out of the truck?

Mine is holding up great. The more coats you put on the better. I probably did like 7 coats on mine. You may think it's overkill but you get what you put into it.

Example...... I recently sold my stock grille to a guy and was showing him how the plastidip peels if (if you want it to). He wanted it all off because he liked the chrome. It was so thick I couldn't get it off by just scraping on it. I had to find a thinner spot on the back of the grille and start peeling it from there. So..... if you put enough on it will hold up perfectly.

thats great to hear. i had my lower billet grille powder coated by a friend who's learning and it turned out nice, but unfortunately the rocks are chipping it away. apparently if you don't get it heated enough, it's not as hard as it could be. is there a gloss clear for the plastidip?

I can tell you there's no way a rock is chipping my plastidip. Like I said, if you only sprayed a few coats on then it probably would. But, with MANY it's really resilient.
