Plastidip the quick and easy way to black things out

I'm doing it to my 6-bar grill. People who say you have to lay it on extremely heavy to notice it are wrong, I did light coats only and it turned the grill from flat to satin. You can definitely tell it's on there even when you don't lay it on heavy.

Not to be a neigh sayer but everyone I've seen use the glossifier has had issues with chipping. And it won't just peel off anymore. It makes the dip rigid and brittle. Ive seen a few guys dip their rims then glossify them and it hasn't worked out well. I've had my rims dipped for almost a year and it made it through an Alberta winter easily.
If you want a glossy look take some tire gloss and apply a light coat to the dip. Shines right up and remains flexible. Just my 2 cents. I'm sure guys will say I'm wrong, but it's just what I've seen.
Also, jgiddy is right. Don't apply it heavily. Go with light layers. It will look crappy at first but once you get a few layers on it looks 10x better!

I'm going back and forth with whether or not I should run the Glossifier. It's very unforgiving with laying it down even and its so easy to have it look like an 8 year old did it. And the answer is not to just lay it down heavy. I think going heavy on the glossifier looks like sh*t. At least on a grill it does.
The Plastidip is different, it's very forgiving and you can get it dead even which looks alot more professional. But the dilemma is that PD by itself gets raped by mud and acid rain spots.

I just don't get painting/PDing the emblems whatever color and then just leaving it like that. Looks weird, like your embarrassed about the make or model of your truck.

I PD'd mine because I hate the cheap plastic chrome look. Now it's a nice black, that flows with the rest of the black FX4 package. Not the Ford emblem but the side and tailgate "F-150" logos.

Having a black blob on your truck doesn't make it flow better...
