Plastidip the quick and easy way to black things out
#2051
Wow! Not a single comment????
Just did the driver's side rockers in Gunmetal. I'll be adding a small black stripe above the white indentation over the Gunmetal to go with the Black-White-Grey theme of the pinstriping on the fender and door. The fender flares were dipped in Gunmetal and those will be going on soon.
Black stripe added.

Blame Ford. I thought it might be the leveling kit the previous owner installed but i don't think that would cause the body panels to be mis-aligned like that. Applying the tape by yourself isn't the easiest. Especially when you only have one good eye, and that eye isn't 20/20 either. But it's good enough for me. It's not a show truck. As long as it doesn't look like anyone else's truck, I'm happy.

I didn't wipe anything away or us a blade. I just plasti dipped the badges, let them dry, then put the overlays on. It seems to be holding up good.

Just posted a thread about it, but the new Anthracite True Metal Plasti-Dip is stunningly close to Sterling Grey Metallic: https://www.f150forum.com/f38/sterli...photos-223084/

This may have been answered/talked about earlier in this thread.. But screw looking through 100+ pages!
Looking to Plasti Dip my Lariat rims.
Anyone ever seen this or done this?
If so, does it look good and does it last?
Just curious. Thanks guys.

I'm planning on doing this in a week or so. Just look on YouTube and dipyourcar.com. Tons of good info and instructional videos.

Awesome, thanks! Also thinking about blacking out the platinum grille on my truck. I personally don't like the look. Wonder what that would look like!
