www.dipyourcar.com - Go to the forums and read a bit. It's just like spray paint, but dries plastic/rubber. It's only $6 a can. If you have any leftover, just save the receipt and return it. I did both mirror caps and still had a 1/2 can left. That was 6 coats and a bunch of practice sprays.

Perfect description of prepping. I cleaned my emblems with my shirt, then alcohol (99% isopropyl), wipe dry with microfiber, and dip within 5 minutes. Experienced dippers say start with 1 light "dusting" coat (50% transparency), let it dry 8-12 minutes (I do 15-20 minutes to be safe, and I've had great smooth results), a 2nd light coat, let dry for 10-15, then 2-4 more medium coats (that look wet to the touch, but not super wet), allowing to dry 10-15 minutes between coats, and let dry until you achieve the color you want. Other people do different methods and it ends up GREAT, but that seems to be the industry "standard" if they had one. Also remember to do enough coats (4-6) that it is easy to peel off. Shouldn't matter with small items like badges and emblems, I did 3 light coats and it peels right off, but anything bigger than that I'd do a minimum of 5... DipYourCar has their own YouTube channel with over 100 How-To's/Tutorials, I went strictly off of that.

Mirror Caps/Emblem

I think it looks good. IMO the 18" FX wheels look better black.

Did mine and love them. Only difference is I didn't dip my lugs and I like that splash of silver on the black wheel a little better. Yours looks great.

Thanks guys. I like e wheels black, just not sold on the PD. They kinda look like modern art. From far away they look good, but the closer you get the worse it looks. I thin this has given me the confidence boost to go get some quotes on having them painted. I want to have the grill, wheels and badges all done in gloss black, then get the glossy B pillars.

Thoughts? Any suggestions on what cost I should expect?
