Default Fuel Wheel PIA

Well broke down and bought some Fuel Mavericks 22X9.5's for my 11' Harley edition. Well thanks to the distributer this turned what should have been that great experience of getting some new wheels into a 5hr pain in the *****. BTW the tire store was behind and went to extra lengths to make sure I was happy so not bashing them.

First the distributer only sent 20 lug nuts. So on the phone to find more but knowing that worse case I could run five per wheel for a day or two until more came. This happened on Friday so limited resources.

Started install and tech had some minor issues getting TPMS switched, ended up being lack of experience with FORDS, no problem though just lengthening the install.

Tech come back to the front desk and then states that one of the 20 lug nuts were wrong and wouldn't work. So now we only have 19, Im not running only 4 lugs on new lug eccentric wheels. Sales manager on phone looking locally for something that will work.

Starting to get wheels on the truck and looks good. Then comes the next issue, the center caps wont fit due to the lugs that they did send being too long and wont allow the center caps to fit properly.

This is now 7:00 pm and the sales manager states he will stay as long as possible. The tech however says he has to go (pregnant wife) and going to get ultra sound. Im like you should have told me that I would have waited till Monday, your baby is more important than wheels. I had noticed that he was getting a little stressed because he was working over.

So finally get the wheels on and being **** about things it sucks not having the center caps!!

Love the looks even without the caps but now have a slight vibration around 70mph that needs attending. Makes you appreciate when things go smooth especially when you just shelled out $1400.00

Well finally got some pics and got the balance issues resolved. For those wondering if your tire store doesn't know what lug centric balancing is, RUN away and don't come back. Finally found a shop that knew what they were doing and all issues are gone. BTW here she is.

Yuk, dont care for the black wheels! Chrome looks better, for some contrast.

Glad I asked your opinion. Oh, I didn't did I. When I don't care for someone's ride I don't comment even if they ask.

Most aftermarket wheels are lug centric meaning the lug nuts are what centers the wheels not the hub.. When balancing the wheels they need an adapter that uses the lug holes to center it on the balancer.

I've always liked the Mavericks. Just need to get some meatier off road tires when those wear out.
