Plasti Dip Emblem Painting

I like it.
I'm going to try it on my 2010 Platinum to minimize the visual impact of those fugly badges.
Here is my PhotoShop interpretation of how much better it will look.
Of course it will still have the "badge bumps", but I'm not going to get into all the body work and repaint required to fill the badge mounting holes in the fender.

Just so you guys know Plasti Dip can be sprayed at almost any temparature. I did my bumpers last year in the middle of january and they held up fine! I did my emblems yesterday, and clear coated them and they look awesome. Wheels this weekend!

*giggle... first post... teehee.
Ok - Here's my final product and what I learned.
I watched that nissan video - it didn't quite peel like that for me.
My plan was to spray an initial coat of Krylon Fusion Textured Shimmer and then overcoat it with Plasti-Dip and peel off the letters. Didn't work. Started to take up the Krylon and couldnt get a good peel started.
Plan B: Light sand again, respray with Krylon, use thin pin stripe tape to create the edge of the oval. This gave me a straight edge that I could attatch larger masking tape to cover the outer ring. Laid down clear sheet of Frisket over the letters and, with low doses of caffeine and nicotine in my system, started cutting out the letters with an exact-o knife. Sprayed a few coats of Plasti-Dip. Pulled Frisket and outer masking/pinstripe. Apply several coats of clear.
One other thing, for the guys just thinking about this - the front emblem (at least on 2011) have keeper tabs built into the grill on the bottom side of the openings. After you remove the nuts, you can take a small flat screwdriver and gently pry outwards and it'll release the tension on the stud.
Let me know if there are any questions (like why on earth I'd make my first post 700 characters long...)

(here's a crappy low-light digital pic of the whole front)

i did it just like the guy with the nissan emblems in the video on the first page... masked off about a 1 inch perimeter around the emblems and peeled the left over off of the paint.
