Default Plasti dip

Anybody on here in Illinois do plasti dipping? I am not all that good at this sort of thing and would have to do it with the wheels on my truck.

You definitely shouldn't believe everything you read on the Internet, but, trust me when I say this... This stuff is kinda like those "approved for ages 0+" toys. Easier than you think. Give it a shot, if ya don't like it. Literally peel it off.

^^ I second what he said
I did my front grille myself, the first time was crappy so i peeled it off and learned that you shouldnt do it in an opened space. Park it in a closed space and try its childplay.

Well since ill have to do it with my rims on the truck. Can I plasti dip over the lugs or should I tape them off. The center cap will cover them so I'm not to worried about that part looking sloppy.

If you're leaving them on, then yeah, I'd say dip the lugs too... just be sure to put something draped behind the wheel to avoid overspray on your rotors, etc... I cant imagine needing more than 2-3 cans for a good 3 or 4 layers each wheel.

Good luck, post pics when done!

I have read SEVERAL people do this on their wheels specifically for winter time up north. Granted, most say they have another whole set of wheels and tires for winter use only, but, I bet it would definitely protect your wheel from the elements more so than not.

Thanks man.

Just curious if anyone here has pictures of the 20" FX rims Dipped. I'm thinking because it gets so crappy here in the winter I'm gonna do at least 5-6 coats, maybe more. The stuff is pretty expensive per can up here so we'll see.
I also have a rim with curb rash so I'm hoping it covers that up nicely.
