Would be a lot easier just to pop it out.
Not sure I want to chance getting anything on the dark gray plastic above the column either.

PlastX worked great on my cluster plastic cover. It was scratched up from the PO cleaning it when it was dirty with a dry rag.

Takes a lot of elbow grease though, rubbing in the opposite direction of the scratches.

PlasX will work fine.. It'll take a lot of work though.

Your three best tools to work with though will be Novus plastic polish, Lemon Pledge, and Plexus.

Never EVER use paper towel on these covers. Always use microfiber or ultra soft diaper cloth.

Novus has a 2-3 step process depending how you want to do it. Green bottle to reduce the scratches, red bottle to polish out the fine scratches and blue bottle to protect it.

Pledge and nexus will remove the scratches over time.

If you're VERY confident in your plastics handling you can wetsand 2000-3000-4000, buff with Novus 3 and 2, then use butane torch to flash it clear. but this isn't recommended for beginners.

Source: I worked with plastics for 4 years.

Most of you would probably laugh that I'm even concerned with how fine they are. I'm so OCD about any of my clear plastics, I hardly ever use the same baby soft cloth twice.
I might say screw it and go the pledge route for awhile.
Thanks all, for your advice.

This worked out great. Gave the screen a glass appearance, and hardly any finger print smudges. Wipes clean much easier, as well.
