Pixs and axle code on ecoboost axle
anybody got any pix of the ecoboost axle and the axle code? I want to know how much heavier it is than the old axles? Is ring gear still 9.75" or now larger?

Thanks for the pix. What is the code on the axle?

The Ford engineer confirmed that the axle had been upgraded because the ecoboost kept breaking them. A guy that works at the Sterling axle plant said that they were "nearly as heavy as a SD axle". I am trying to see if they increased the ring gear size from 9.75" or what changes they made.

You don't have a clue as to what you are talking about.

If I remember the article correctly, all 9.75 axles get the upgrade. The eco-boosts weren't going to be build untill that axle was available. What the upgrade consists of for sure I don't know. I've heard stronger pinions to stronger axles. I'll see if I can link the article tomorrow.
So yes the newer rear ends/axles are stronger than the previous version Flabioso. Try driving one and maybe you won't be so bitter.
