Exclamation

I was doing 65 in a 70 all the way to Nashville in the far right lane.
People were blowing me away going 75+.
I was smiling too knowing my MPG meter was staying at 22.3!!!

To the city guy with 15mpg. Thats really good pretty close to mine. As far as helping. Umm keep them tires aired up possibley add a bed cover. I have a access it's about 350 installed. Didn't do it for MPG but for storage. As I still use my truck as a truck.
Thanks man. Thinking about possibly a cold air intake. Already looking at covers but I want to keep the bed open as much as possible, so definitely something easily removable.

Here's some fun numbers for Ya.at 3.25 a gallon. Over the live of my truck thus far. Driving 70 MPH would of cost me $4513 compared to $3548 at 65 or 965 for the year or $74 a month saved. Next is time. Driving 65 vs 70 added 27 hrs total or 2 hrs a month. So I would say it's worth it. But you decide for yourself

I am fine with people driving under the speed limit. UNLESS---You are in the left or fast lane. Nothing makes me more mad when the speed limit is 75 and somebody is going 55 in the fast lane, next to a car going 55 in the slow lane and they back up traffic like no other. Pass the car and let the rest of us through. No reason for this type of driving. Happens all the time in South Dakota! Other states beware of this too. If you see a South Dakota plate know that if they are in the fast lane going slow they won't move. South Dakota drivers are notorious for this!

I say pay attention to your mirrors and make sure no one is coming up behind you, and if you see someone flashing the brights that means they are coming and want to pass.

Yep, comes down to personal factors. Whether your time is worth more than $37 an hour essentially. To some who have other plans or the ability to generate extra income in spare time, it will be, while to others not.

I'm just of the belief that as long as your decisions have no negative impact on others, you should be free to do what you please. Slower drivers should respect the fact that some wish to travel faster, meanwhile, faster drivers should respect the fact that there will be unavoidable times where they must yield to slower traffic.

At the same time, faster drivers also need to respect that they now have an increased responsibility for maintaining vehicle control and situational awareness for others safety. Personally, I have noticed I am much, much more alert when I am proceeding at my own pace versus following the standard flow of traffic.
