Pioneer 6x8 Speaker Replacement

I replaced the front speakers in my truck with those pioneers(pic is in my Album). Install was easy, a set of plastic trim tools will help not mar up the plastic in the door handles. I did not buy from crutchfield (half the price elsewhere) so I also purchased some adapters. The pioneer speakers are definitely crisper, but the bass is not as low as the stock (It is lower than many other aftermarket speakers though). And that is why I left my rears stock. Overall I am happy with the speakers.
The stock speakers aren't the weak point in the system, the HU is. Depending on what you want to do you may also look at the 6.5 components. You can fit them in the 6x8 holes with adapters, and there are some great ideas on this forum about where to mount the tweeters. I can't turn up the bass much past half with either speaker because the door panel rattles. If you are looking for bass, I would suggest one of the all-in one bass box combos.

What he said!
I went with these running off the stock HU then upgraded to a new DD HU and they sound great!
These are great especially if you do not plan on amping them as the have a good sensitivity rating meaning they work more efficently with less watts put to them.
They made a huge improvment over the stock stuff and they have crossovers built in. Plus they will be great when you amp them in the future.
I try to stay away from Pioneer, sony, ect. They are like the Schwinn of cars speakers to me.
